cama, noun
bed
The previous Word of the Day was acostarse, to go to bed, which you
normally do en la cama, in bed. Notice how Spanish uses the article la:
Está en la cama con una gripe tremenda.
(He’s in bed with a terrible flu.)
When you have to make your bed, the verb is the one you might expect:
hacer.
Después de hacer la cama salí corriendo.
(After making my bed I left the house in a rush.)
Meterse en la cama means to get into bed.
Tomó un baño caliente antes de meterse en la cama.
(She had a hot bath before getting into bed.)
