The Island在美國本土慘敗 終於在海外市場開始回收
目前已經連續兩個禮拜為海外市場票房冠軍
well, 這應該是說上映中電影的當週票房，不是總票房，
今年度目前為止，海外票房的總冠軍是星際大戰（笑）

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com)- Though its feeble domestic performance has
become the subject of industry jokes, "The Island" is slowly delivering
big returns in the international marketplace.
The Michael Bay sci-fi drama spent its second week atop the international
box office, grossing some $12.9 million outside of the United States and
Canada. To date, the Ewan McGregor/Scarlett Johansson vehicle has made
$85.3 million international, a large improvement over its paltry $35
million domestic take.
According to media reporter, "The Island" was playing in 44 foreign markets
on 4,800 screens and only nipped "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," which
did $10.2 million on 3,500 screens in 37 markets. That Johnny Depp-Tim
Burton collaboration has done $111.7 million foreign to go with its
domestic gross, which is slowly approaching $200 million.
Third place foreign went to "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." Already a smash hit
domestically with an $183 gross, the Jolie-Pitt action film is up to $207.1
million foreign after a $5.8 million weekend. "Herbie: Fully Loaded" was
fourth with $5.3 million (for a $50.6 million foreign total) and "The
Skeleton Key" was fourth with $4.9 million ($15.8 million total).
