DONMAR WAREHOUSE ANNOUNCES FORTHCOMING SPRING/SUMMER SEASON FOR 2005
As Michael Grandage completes his second year as Artistic Director of the
Donmar, he announces the forthcoming productions for Spring/Summer 2005....
In addition to the work at its home base in Covent Garden, the Donmar will
co-produce with the Ambassador Theatre Group a new production of Frank
Loesser and Abe Burrow’s Guys and Dolls in the West End.

The Donmar Warehouse and Ambassador Theatre Group collaborate on a new
production of Frank Loesser's and Abe Burrow's Guys and Dolls opening in
the West End early in 2005. This is the first new production for 23 years.
The production will be directed by Michael Grandage and produced by the
Ambassador Theatre Group in association with the Donmar's own production
team. This will be their first collaboration outside of the Donmar's 250
seat auditorium.
Ewan McGregor plays Sky Masterson. McGregor’s theatre credits include
Little Malcolm and His Struggle Against the Eunuchs (Hampstead Theatre
and West End) and What the Butler Saw (Salisbury Playhouse). For television,
his work includes ER, Scarlet & Black and Lipstick on Your Collar; and for
film, Star Wars, Big Fish, Down With Love, Black Hawk Down, Moulin Rouge,
Little Voice, A Life Less Ordinary, Brassed Off, Trainspotting and Shallow
Grave.
Guys and Dolls is directed by Michael Grandage. Grandage is currently in
rehearsals for Grand Hotel at the Donmar. Previous work for the Donmar
includes Henry IV, After Miss Julie, Caligula (Olivier Award for Best
Director 2004), The Vortex, Privates on Parade, Merrily We Roll Along
(Olivier Award for Best New Musical), Good and Passion Play (Evening
Standard and Critics’ Circle Awards for Best Director). Grandage is also
Associate Director of the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.
Designer Christopher Oram returns to the Donmar following the success of
Henry IV, Caligula - for which he won an Evening Standard Award, The Vortex,
Privates on Parade, Merrily We RollAlong and Passion Play.
