Ewan McGregor's Sky Masterson benefits not at all from Grandage's approach.
Warm and charismatic, he dances enthusiastically, snogs without coming up for
air and belts out his high notes like a good 'un. But Sky Masterson is a bad
'un. McGregor can be dangerous, but here he is seat-warmingly nice.

It's true that Ewan McGregor has come in for a fair bit of press criticism
over the strength of his voice; however, while it is not especially strong it
does carry conviction.

And though the show has a huge draw in Ewan McGregor, it's just as well that
everything doesn't have to hang around him from the off. He dances elegantly,
but isn't yet on full-voltage; he assumes charm rather than displays it.
He can, as anyone who saw him a few years ago at Hampstead, knows, make the
stage seem to zoom into him, but he does it only once here, when he sings
'Luck Be a Lady' straight out into the audience, with a messianic glint in
his eye, which makes marvellous sense of him both as past gambler and future
mission boy. He's outsung by Jenna Russell, who makes the difficult part of
the mission girl melted by his love into something sweet and serious.
我自己又試圖客觀地來想了一下,
我還是覺得Ewan歌聲的"strength"不如一般評論說的如此不足,
若說差的話, 或許是情緒上的表達稍微不夠吧!
我想音樂劇的唱法之於一般歌曲
就像舞台劇之於電影或現實人生
表現上總是"誇張"一點，以求情緒能完全傳達出去
Ewan是邊演邊改進, 一直到12月要結束時才能夠拿捏得精準點
所以，下一次會更好~~~:P

McGregor can certainly carry a tune, and he hits the high notes as required.
He delivers his big number, "Luck Be a Lady" with enormous brio. He can also
hoof well enough not to cause havoc with the dancers, but his main
contribution is his considerable star wattage and immediate likability.
