Fox411 reports that Jodie Foster's directing project, Flora Plum, is dead
for the second time.
The first time was because Russell Crowe hurt his shoulder. Now the circus
movie has been cancelled, Foster said, "because we lost the cast. But think
when it is made: I'll be able to tell the story of how it took ten years."
The film would have starred Ewan McGregor as a circus freak and Claire Danes
as Flora Plum, a penniless girl who joins the circus. Meryl Streep was also
set to star.
Based on a Steven Rogers script, Plum has been at least seven years in the
works, with Barry Mendel first committing to produce back in 1997.
Foster next stars in Touchstone thriller Flightplan.
