Dennis Bergkamp

Dennis was one of a number of Arsenal stars who suffered through
injury last season, his first team appearances being limited by
calf and achilles problems. One of the great strikers of his
generation, Dennis arrived from Internazionale six seasons ago
and won the Football Writers?Footballer of the Year 1997/98 and
the Players?Player of the Year 1998.
Following an excellent Euro 2000 competition, Dennis decided to
retire from international football and his tally of 37 goals
remains a Dutch record.
