Frank Rijkaard refused to dismiss Edmilson's recent complaints about the 'black sheep' of the Barcelona family out of hand. The coach told the press today, "I'm not going to say that he had no reason." Nonetheless, the Dutch manager was clearly unhappy that the player chose a public forum to discuss such matter. "He should have talked about these issues within the locker room," added Rijkaard, before saying that moves had been taken to ensure that this would happen. "The players met with him to discuss and clarify such things, and I think it's good to talk about such matters in order to draw conclusions," he said. Indeed, drawing a line under the issue was a priority for the Camp Nou manager, not least since Edmilson himself seems keen to do so. "The players have decided not to speak publicly on the issue," said Rijkaard. "We talked to [captain Carles] Puyol to hear the squad's reaction and their view, and then today we met with the coaches and concluded that we'll leave the subject behind us. "We'll move on, work on other things, and appeal to common sense." The coach confirmed that Rafael Marquez's request for a five day vacation had been granted because "it was the right time to do it," before implying that Ronaldinho will indeed be rested on Saturday. "He's very keen to play, but I think that he could use a break," admitted the coach. Steve Michaels, Goal.com -- Visca el Barca i visca Catalunya ! -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.112.214.103
