Edmi'lson: Ronaldinho Is Really Struggling
Edmi'lson has revealed that he believes Ronaldinho is battling to overcome
a problem and called upon Barc,a to rediscover the determination that led
them to success in recent years.
The Brazilian midfielder attacked the money-driven motives of players on
Wednesday and stated that there were black sheep in the Blaugrana squad.
As more of the same interview was released, Edmi'lson has now talked about
his compatriot Ronaldinho and the need for Frank Rijkaard's squad to show
more desire.
"I like Ronnie so much and he is a great player, very important to Barc,a,
for the national team and for whatever team he plays for," he told Catalan
channel TV3.
"But I also think that is going through a difficult time. I do not know
whether it is something external or whether it is a personal problem.
"But I am not of the belief that it would be best if he was rested because I
think that being on the bench would only lower his esteem further. He is a
guy than cannot be sad."
The topic of Barc,a's formation has been on-going since they lost to Getafe
before the international break, but Edmi'lson believes that the system is not
important.
"We can play with 5-3-2, 3-4-3 or 3-5-2, but if the players are not fired up,
if they are not willing to work hard, then the team will not win anything and
things will not go well," he continued.
"In the two years that we won successive league titles and the Champions
League, we did it by using the same 4-3-3. But people were willing to give
everything that they had.
"I remember the game against Milan, when we won 1-0 with a goal from
(Ludovic) Giuly, when he was marked by Serginho.
"Throughout that game, Giuly made 50 or 60 sprints of 60 metres and was dead
at the end of it, but he did it all for the team.
"That is what we are currently lacking, a united team and a family feeling.
"For one thing you need the other.
"One player like his car, another may be always on the mobile while another
may have a new watch, but when we are all out on the pitch training, we have
to give it our all for the sake of the club."
Finally, Edmi'lson made another appeal for the players to focus only on
helping Barc,a to win trophies during the time that they have at the club.
"The players are here to make history with the club. I will not be at the
club in five or six years time and neither will Ronaldinho and many others,"
he added.
"But the club will still be here and we have to make history during our time
here.
"I want to tell the fans of Barc,a to continue to beliece because we are
trying our best to produce something good."
