Bayern linked with Ribery raid
According to reports in both France and Germany, Bayern Munich are readying a
big offer to prise Franck Ribery from Marseille next season.
The skilful winger performed a U-turn in August as he stated he wanted to
remain at Stade Velodrome, but speculation continues to surround his future.
Before opting to stay with l'OM Ribery had attracted strong interest from
Arsenal, Lyon and Real Madrid, with the London side linked with a ￡13.5
million bid.
Ribery's decision left a number of top clubs disappointed but Bayern are now
seemingly determined to bring the 23-year-old to Die Bundesliga.
The Marseille star has impressed in the early part of the season and Bayern
chairman Karl Heinz Rummenigge has even conceded that the Bavarian giants are
interested in the gifted attacker
"Ribery is an attractive player," Rummenigge admitted.
However, it is believed Bayern will resist a formal approach in January,
waiting instead until the summer to pursue the in-demand star.
