Renault not ready for podium - Alonso
Hopes dashed at Magny-Cours


Fernando Alonso said Magny-Cours delivered a dose of reality on Sunday, after
earlier hoping for his first podium of the season from his high grid position.
在本季首次登上頒獎台的希望破滅之後，
阿龍索說，法國大賽讓雷諾看清不少事實。

The Spaniard ultimately finished the race just eighth, lamenting that his
Renault did not deliver good enough race pace.
阿龍索對於他的雷諾賽車傷當失望，
他週日第三位出發，只拿下第八名坐收。

"On Saturday and before the race we were optimistic, but we need to be
realistic," he told Telecinco.
阿龍索：
"週六排位賽和週日正賽之前，我們對於比賽是相當樂觀的。
 不過事情過後，我們必須面對現實。"

"We are really only fighting in the middle of the grid."
阿龍索：
"我們現在只是中段班的一員。"

Some analysts surmised that the 26-year-old former double World Champion's
race strategy simply failed.
分析師認為，阿龍索的問題來自於失敗的比賽策略。

But Alonso explained: "If you are slow and you can't get into a rhythm, your
strategy doesn't matter."
不過阿龍索卻這麼說：
"在你開著一台慢車，而且你也無法找到比賽節奏的情況下
 ，策略是好是壞根本不重要。"

His countryman Marc Gene, a test driver for Ferrari, agreed that Alonso's
unfulfilled potential was the "negative surprise" of the French Grand Prix.
法拉力測試車手，同時也是阿龍索西班牙同鄉，Marc Gene說，
阿龍索未能全面展現的實力，是法國大賽"負面的驚訝"。

"We expected much more from him," Gene wrote in the Spanish newspaper El
Mundo. "Even at Ferrari we thought he was going to be our competitor."
Gene：
"我們對他是有所期待的--比他在場上的表現多很多。
 即便是在法拉力，我們依然認為他會是我們的競爭者之一。"

The German newspaper FAZ reports that Alonso is growing impatient with
Renault, and that the feeling may also be mutual by many inside the French
squad's pits.
德國報紙FAZ說，阿龍索對於雷諾漸漸開始失去耐性，
而雷諾PIT裡面的工作人員對阿龍索也是相同狀況。

One engineer is quoted as saying: "Fernando thinks only about Fernando. (In
Canada) he wasn't even at the after-race briefing."
FAZ引述雷諾工程師的說法：
"阿龍索只想到阿龍索自己。在加拿大賽後，他甚至沒有參加賽後簡報會議。"

Engineering chief Pat Symonds, however, insists that Alonso is wanted: "The
bottom line is that we are the best choice for him."
不過雷諾的工程主管Pat Symonds說，阿龍索還是雷諾的最愛。
Pat Symonds：
"結論就是，我們是彼此的最佳選擇。"

"If he would drive with us out of this crisis, he would be a hero," the
Briton added.
Pat Symonds：
"如果他帶領我們走出這個困境，他將會是英雄。"
