Jordan adamant that teams should build own cars
"This is not what Formula One was in my day”

Former team owner Eddie Jordan took in the scenes at Rally Ireland at the
weekend and spoke to Racing-Live.com about two very contentious issues that
have made the headlines this year in the Formula One world.
EJ對兩項佔據本年度F1世界頭條位置的爭議發表言論。
The first was the ongoing issue regarding customer cars in Formula One. With
the Prodrive effort seemingly failing to get off the ground due to legal
uncertainties regarding the use of a customer McLaren chassis for the 2008
season, Jordan himself states that if he was still in Formula One, he would
be constructing his own chassis and would not be looking to take the customer
route…

在看到Prodrive想要在2008年使用麥拉倫賣出的客製車這項議題，似乎不可行的現在，
Jordan認為如果他還在F1，他會自己製造賽車底盤，而不會選擇客製車。
“For me, Formula One is very important is so far as that you should design
your own car, you should make your own car and you should race your own car,”
 he told Caroline Kharitian. “I’m of the view that some of the teams in
Formula One that by buying a McLaren or a… whatever… a Honda that other
people did. And I think this is not what Formula One was in my day.”
EJ：
"對我來說，F1重要的部分是，你應該設計自己的賽車，建造自己的賽車，
 並且用你設計建造的賽車出賽。"
"我是說某些車隊跑去買麥拉倫，嗯..管他的..，還有Honda的賽車來出賽。"
"我想這不是我那個時代的F1經營方法。"
“I could have very easily bought a Lotus, but I decided to make sure we
designed the car ourselves and clearly you can’t imagine the pleasure of
winning a Grand Prix in your own car and that is very important. If I was in
Formula One, I would want to design my own car."
"我可以輕易地買到蓮花的車，但是我決定我們要自己做。"
"很明顯地，你不了解開著自己的車贏得勝利的樂趣；而那是很相當重要的。"

Late on Friday evening, the FIA confirmed that the International Court of
Appeal had thrown out McLaren’s case against the non-action of the Brazilian
Grand Prix Stewards' over the ‘cool fuel’ saga involving BMW Sauber and
Williams Toyota. Jordan admits that McLaren boss Ron Dennis had placed
himself in a no-win situation and that he would not have appealed the race
result.

EJ說跑等你死把自己放到一個"什麼都沒有"的局面；
而換作是EJ自己，他是不會選擇控告的。
“It’s very difficult,” Jordan continued. “I can understand that Ron was
very hurt. I understood possibly why he did it because Ron is very strong
about correctness and he wanted to see the correctness.”
EJ：
"那相當痛苦。我可以了解Ron很受傷。"
"我了解爲什麼Ron選擇近法院。因為他相當注重正當性，而他也想要看到正當性。"
“But he was in a no-win situation,” he explained. “Even if he did win the
appeal, I think a lot of people would have disputed it. Therefore, from that
point of view – from the media - everything else, I think no, it wouldn’t
have been something I would have done.”
"但是他在一個no-win situation。"
"即是他贏得判決，我想很多人還是會質疑。"
"所以從這個角度來看，如果是我的話，我不會作出這個控訴的決定。"
