Heidfeld backs Kubica

  BMW lead driver Nick Heidfeld says he has confidence that new team
mate Robert Kubica will do a good job for the remainder of the season
as he replaces Jacques Villeneuve. Kubica made an impressive race debut
at the Hungaroring last weekend until he was disqualified for being
under weight.

  BMW confirmed to F1Racing.net on Thursday that Kubica would see out
the rest of the season behind the wheel of Villeneuve's car.

  "Even more than by his pace I'm impressed by the fact he makes nearly
no mistakes," Heidfeld said. "Before the season, I stood up for us having
an experienced third driver. I didn't want us to lose time while a young
driver adapted to new tracks, but Robert learns them extremely quickly
and makes very few mistakes."
