Last year, BMW Sauber F1 Team driver Nick Heidfeld celebrated the biggest
success of his career so far at the Nurburgring.After having entered the race
from pole position, he finished in 2nd place. Nick talks about his memories
of the Nurburgring and about the forthcoming race weekend.

Following the disappointing San Marino Grand Prix, the BMW Sauber F1 Team is
determined to return to form at the Nurburgring once more. The 5,148 kilometre
track in the Eifel region is the ideal place for Nick to achieve this goal.
"Driving on the Nurburgring is always something very special for me," Nick
Heidfeld confirms. "The race is my personal home Grand Prix. The Ring is the
circuit nearest to Mochengladbach, where I was born and grew up. As a
three-year-old I learnt to ride a bike on the Nurburgring. My father used to
take me and my two brothers to the Ring quite often, and in winter we even
went tobogganing on the Nordschleife. And at the age of eight I had my first
go-kart experience on the Nurbrugring."

However, Nick, doesn't only hold fond childhood memories of the Nurburgring,
but also likes to think back to the 2005 European Grand Prix. "Last year I
gained my first ever Formula One pole position there and came second in the
race," he recollects. "Of course that kind of success before a home crowd was
fantastic. I don't feel my home race puts unwanted pressure on me in the least.
On the contrary, I'm really looking forward to the support I'll get there.
Nowhere else will I see so many fans."

希望今年同樣能在眾多家鄉車迷面前拿出最好的一面
