Forty years ago there was a man standing at the grid during the
season opener in Monaco. He was debuting with his own F1 team, a
team that would become one of the most successful teams in F1
history. On the 22nd of May 1966 Bruce McLaren debuted the McLaren
M28* but had to give up due after nine laps already due to technical
problems.
40年前在開季的Monaco站，有個人站在起跑位置。他將以自己的車隊
首度出賽，那是一支將在F1史上成為最成功的車隊之一的車隊。在1966年
5月22日，Bruce McLaren駕駛McLaren M28*首度登場，但在9圈後因車子的

In 1968 the McLaren team scored his first victory, over 3 minutes
ahead of Chris Amon's Ferrari at Spa Francorchamps. Unfortunately
Bruce McLaren was unable to enjoy the great years that were to come
for the team. McLaren crashed in a test session at Goodwood in 1970.
Emmerson Fittipaldi won the team's first Championship in 1974.

McLaren would dominate in the 1980's. In 1984 Niki Lauda clinched
the title, while in 1985 Alain Prost took the title for McLaren. In
1988 McLaren signed talent Ayrton Senna and together with Prost the
duo won 15 out of the 16 races that season. Senna clinched the title
with Prost in second place. Prost though, claimed the title one year
later again.
McLaren在1980年代支配了F1。在1984年Niki Lauda取得了世界冠軍，1985

When Prost joined Ferrari in 1990 Ayrton Senna could win the title
once again. In 1991 he won the title again, but from 1992 McLaren wasn't
as strong as the team used to be. Senna won a couple of races but the
title was out of his reach.
當保教授在1990年轉戰Ferrari後，Senna再度拿下了世界冠軍。1991年他
再度衛冕世界冠軍，但從1992年後McLaren不再像以往那樣的強大，Senna依舊
贏得許多場勝利，但是世界冠軍已經與他無緣。
From 1994 the team got even worse. They didn't win a race until David
Coulthard won the opening race in 1997 for McLaren. The year after Mika
Hakkinen finally won the title for McLaren again. The Flying Finn was
also able to win it in 1999.
從1994年開始McLaren的狀況更加不振。直到數位相機在1997年開幕站澳洲
站為車隊拿下勝利為止，期間完全沒有拿下任何一勝。隔年1998年Mika Hakkinen
終於再度為車隊拿下世界冠軍，這位「芬蘭飛人」在1999年也連霸成功。
Since then the team is unable to join the championship fight. In 2005
Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso were fighting for the title, but due
to many technical failures Raikkonen wasn't able to win the title.
自此之後的幾年，車隊未能加入冠軍爭奪戰的行列中。在2005年，冰滷蛋和
小新爭奪世界冠軍，但由於一連串技術上的出包，滷蛋未能取下世界冠軍。
The McLaren team has been active in 602 races already. They won 11
drivers championships and 8 constructor titles. The team won 148 races
and started a race 122 times from pole position. An incredible result
for one of the most successful teams in the history of Formula 1.
McLaren車隊目前出賽602場，贏得11次車手世界冠軍和8次車隊冠軍。隊史
拿下148場勝利與122次的杆位。對一支F1歷史上最成功車隊之一的車隊來說是
令人難以置信的成果。

這篇文章的英文其實蠻淺顯的，不過小的騙騙p幣就還是胡亂翻了一下 :)
這篇等於是簡介McLaren車隊光輝的歷史，在現在McLaren車隊有些不振的狀
況下看了是多少會有點欷噓吧！我想McLaren的車迷應該都在祈禱1994-1996年
那3年可怕的黑暗期不會再度重現 :)
