FIA and GPMA negotiate "Concorde Agreement".

The International Automobile Association FIA and the Manufacturers
Association GPMA have recently agreed on the future terms of Formula
One racing. This paves the way for both parties to sign the "Concorde
Agreement".

FIA president Max Mosley and Burkhard Goeschel, board member of the
BMW Group and Director of the GPMA, announced they had agreed " on all
outstanding issues" following negotiations in Munich. After five years of
struggling to reach an agreement, the FIA and the GPMA achieved "a major
breakthrough, unquestionably a fundamental change in the way we go
about managing the rules," Mosley and Goeschel told British media
representatives.

This agreement provides teams, manufacturers and suppliers with a reliable
framework determining the future distribution of preceeds, the regulations,
as well as their enforcement by the FIA. The "Concorde Agreement", which
is scheduled to be signed in the near future, will become effective for five
years after the expiration of the current contract in 2007.

Until August of this year, both parties were unable to agree upon the engine
regulations for the next years. The engine manufacturers opposed Mosley's
pplan to severely restrict the future possibilities to develop the aggregates
in order to lower overall costs. With the negotiations in Munich and the
"Concorde Agreement" the manufacturers have now accepted the
restriction of development.
