Michelin CEO killed in boat accident 26 May 2006 Edouard Michelin, Michelin's CEO, was killed today in a boating accident. Michelin was only 43 years old. On Friday evening Michelin confirmed the news with a statement. Edouard Michelin became Michelin's CEO seven years ago. He was involved in Formula One, especially when the FIA announced it was interested in a sole tyre supplier. Michelin and a friend sailing with him, both lost their lives. With an engineering degree behind him, Michelin joined the company that bares his name in 1985. From May 12th Michel Rollier and Michelin managed the group in the capacity of Managing Partners. This weekend, the French tyre firm are chasing their fifth straight Monaco Grand Prix victory.
