Renault introduced this new front wing endplate on Fernando Alonso's car in
Germany at the weekend. Notable features are the strange, curved shape at the
rear of the endplate and the new longitudinal slot (black arrow), also seen
previously on the Toyota. The slot acts as a kind of sealing skirt for the
endplate, accelerating airflow and directing it outwards, hence allowing the
front wing to work more efficiently.
