Yamamoto signs as Aguri's test driver

The Super Aguri team today announced that their 2006 driver Sakon
Yamamoto will become the team's second test driver in the upcoming
season.
Yamamoto made an encouraging F1 debut during the four months he
drove for the team in the latter half of the 2006 season. In his new
role Yamamoto will be supporting SAF1 Team race drivers Takuma Sato
and Anthony Davidson in addition to newly appointed test and reserve
driver Giedo van der Garde.
Sakon Yamamoto commented: "It is great news that I am able to stay
in Formula One with the Super Aguri team in 2007 and would like to
thank everyone who has supported me, especially Aguri-san. I will try
to do my best in my new role and give the team good support from my
time in the car next year."
Team boss Aguri Suzuki said: "I am very happy that Sakon will remain
a member of the Super Aguri team next season. We will help him to secure
a race seat in another category for 2007 and I am confident that his
experience gained from Formula One racing this year will help him achieve
this goal."
