            Joseph Gilles Henri Villeneuve (Jan 18,1950–May 8,1982).
        A canadian formula one racing driver. His first professional
        career was snowmobile racing in Quebec, his native province.
        He was offered a a one-off drive with McLaren at 1977 British
        Grand Prix. He was taken on by reigning world champions Ferra-
        ri for the end of the season - in only his fifth season racing
        cars - and from 1978 to his death in 1982 drove for the Itali-
        an team. He won six Grand Prix races in a short career at the
        highest level.

            Gilles Villeneuve 是加拿大的F1車手，從魁北克開始他的職業
        賽事，1977年加入McLaren 車隊，接著一年之後被 Ferrari(法拉利)
        車隊簽下，一直到他過世之前都待在 Ferrari。他的賽車生涯跟他的
        人生一樣短暫； 32年的生命中，F1的 activity years是 1977 -
        1982。從1977年的英國站開始，到他發生意外過世的1982比利時站為
        止，一共出賽68場；取得 6次分站冠軍，年度最佳名次是1979年的第
        二名。1982年比利時站，他的座車以140 mph (225 km)的速度再賽道
        上發生意外過世，結束了短暫的一生。他的小孩Jacques Villeneuve
        於1997年也投入 Formula one racing 的懷抱。

            他最為人樂道的兩點，第一是1979年法國站跟 Rene Arnoux的激
        烈交鋒，堪稱F1史上數一數二的超車大戰，最後GV勝出。激烈的程度
        真的令人血脈噴張，說是F1史上經典賽事也絕不為過。再者是我更佩
        服他的一點：永不放棄。不管車再麼差，尾翼斷了或是輪胎爆了，他
　　　　都不會放棄；只要車還能動，他會繼續堅持下去。看著他賽車劃過的
　　　　軌跡，就像他的生命一樣…璀璨美麗…但是卻那麼的短暫，像是劃過
　　　　天際的一顆流星。

之前看了GV的事蹟跟影片寫在批兔的，雖然無緣經歷他的年代，但是他永遠活在我心中。
