Born in Wolfsberg Austria, Patrick Friesacher gets his Formula One break with
the Minardi Cosworth team in 2005 having tested and impressed the team with
his Misano test the previous November.

Friesacher came from a traditional karting background before progressing to
the French Formula Campus series in 1998 where he finished in third position.
Friesacher graduated to French Formula 3 the following season proving
competitive in the 'B' class before moving to German F3 the following season.

In 2001, Friesacher made the jump to Formula 3000 where he scored three
top-six finishes with the Red Bull Junior team. Friesacher remained with the
squad through 2002 and 2003 showing well at the twisty Hungarian Grand Prix
circuit. Friesacher went on to win at the Hungarian circuit in 2003 with Red
Bull Junior before joining Super Nova and then Coloni in 2004 and taking
another Hungarian victory for the Italian team.

Friesacher moves to Formula One with a well documented background and it will
be interesting to see if he has the pace to follow in the footsteps of Mark
Webber or Fernando Alonso who both gained so much at the tiny Minardi Formula
One team. Certainly Patrick Friesacher has plenty of experience.
