Jenson Button has gone public on his desire to stay with the BAR-Honda
Formula 1 team, despite being under contract to join Williams in 2006.

The British driver has a clause in his contract that states Williams can
claim him if he fails to score 75% of the world championship leader's points
by the end of August – an unachievable target.

Jenson Button已經公開表示他留在BAR的意願，即使在有約要在2006加入Williams
的情況下。

Button的合約中明定一但在八月底前不能取得世界冠軍領先者的75%積分 - 現在看起來
是不可能達成的目標，則可以轉隊到Williams

But Button says he now believes BAR can offer him a better chance of winning
the world championship.

"I'm sure Williams will be very strong in the future - in three of four years
time - but BAR Honda will be strong from the word go," he told Autosport.

不過Button說現在他相信BAR可以給他更好的機會挑戰世界冠軍。

"我相信Williams在未來實力將會很堅強，約三到四年後，但是BAR現在就很強" Button告
訴Autosport記者

"I've been in Formula 1 for six years now. I haven't had the equipment to win
a race, so this is a very important decision for me.

"I have to be with the correct team and that is BAR Honda."

Frank Williams told ITV-F1 during the German Grand Prix that he expects
Button to fulfil his obligations.

"我已經在F1場上6年，還沒有一部好的車讓我贏得冠軍，所以對我來說這是一項非常重
要的決定"。

"我必須跟著對的車隊，那就是BAR Honda"

Frank Williams在德國大賽時告訴記者希望Button履行他的承諾。

"We do have an existing contract with Jenson for ’06, and we fully expect
him to arrive at Williams at the due period of time,” said Williams.

But Button says he has no qualms about changing his mind and that the
decision was based purely on performance terms and what is best for his
career.

"我們現在握有與Button在2006的合約，我們衷心希望他能在期限前加入Williams"

Button對於改變心意並不會有所疑慮，他的主要考量在於性能以及做出對他賽車生涯
最有利的選擇

Williams is expected to announce shortly that it will receive a supply of
Cosworth V8 engines in 2006, having lost its works partnership deal with BMW.

Button believes that Honda's 45% stake in BAR means that the team provides
him a significantly more realistic chance of immediate success.

Button認為Honda在BAR中所佔的45%的股份代表BAR車隊能夠給他更實際能馬上成功的機會

"I'll certainly be able to look him in the eye when I see him in the
paddock," said Button of Williams.

"We have quite a lot of history together, going back to before 2000, so we
need to be adult about it and understand the situation.

"I can understand Williams's situation, but Frank has to understand mine as
well.

"當我在拖車區看到他時，我總是對他抱以尊重" Button說

"To be competitive next year, any team has to be with a manufacturer that is
fully involved.

"The position has changed a lot with Williams from last year. A racing
drivers' career is short, so you have to make the best you can of it.

"Honda buying in was a major part of me wanting to stay. It shows how serious
they are about winning the world championship. This is a big decision for me.
It's not simply that I am changing my mind from year-to-year."

自己最好的決定"

Button also hinted that he hopes to appeal to Frank Williams to allow him to
stay with his current team.

"I have a contract with Williams for 2006," said the Englishman, who began
his F1 career with the team in 2000.

"Whether that is binding or not remains to be seen.

Button同時暗示他希望吸引Frank Williams能讓他留在現在的車隊

"我與Williams有2006的合約，但是確定了沒有還不知道"

"I can understand his (Frank Williams) situation, but he has to understand
mine as well. And I want to be with BAR Honda. It's not in a spoilt brat kind
of way, it is just this is an important decision for my career."

This time a year ago Button announced he was joining Williams for 2005,
sparking a scandal that ended with a Contracts Recognition Board decision
forcing him to stay at BAR.

"我能了解他的情況(指Frank Williams)，但是他也必須了解我的情況，我想要留在
BAR Honda，這並不是搗亂的事，這是對我職業生涯很重要的決定"

But Jenson now claims he was badly advised.

"You could say that I've made mistakes and I think I have been poorly advised
on the future," he said.

"But now I've got to make it right and choose the direction I need to go in
my career. I've got to put me first."

不過Jenson現在也表示他之前被引道到錯誤的方向。

"你可以說我做了錯誤的決定，我想我之前並沒有好好思考這個問題"

"但是現在我要做正確的決定，選擇我職業生涯中的方向，我必須先考量我自己"
