F1賽車-巴頓力壓舒馬赫,榮膺"賽車運動"年度最佳國際車手

【路透社】路透倫敦電---英國《賽車運動》(Autosport)雜誌的讀者把2004年最
佳國際賽車手的榮譽授予巴頓(Jenson Button)，再次讓法拉利車王舒馬赫(米高
舒麥加)無緣這一獎項。

德國車王舒馬赫在今年的18站一級方程式(F1)大獎賽中13次奪魁，第七次獲得年
度總冠軍，而效力於英美車隊(BAR)的英國車手巴頓最終名列車手積分榜第三位。

現年24歲的巴頓尚未在分站賽中折桂，但今年獲得四站大獎賽亞軍，幫助採用本
田引擎的英美車隊在年終車隊積分榜上僅居法拉利之後，名列第二。

「這種情況有點奇怪，」在周日晚上的《賽車運動》頒獎儀式上，巴頓從兩度世
界冠軍哈基寧(夏健倫)手裡接過獎杯後說。「我現在捧起這座獎杯，感覺有點不
好意思，因為舒馬赫贏了那麼多次，而且在積分榜上大獲全勝。」

已經連續五年奪得世界冠軍的舒馬赫沒有參加周日的頒獎典禮，他在去年的評選
中就輸給了哥倫比亞車手蒙托亞(莫托亞)。哈基寧是除舒馬赫以外，最近一位奪
得年度總冠軍的F1車手。(完)

Button beats Schumacher to top British award

There was some consolation for Ferrari, whose F2004 was voted racing
car of the year, an award accepted by chief designer Rory Byrne.

"It's far too early to say how it (next season) is going to pan out,"
Byrne said when asked about the future. "We could be in for some
surprises."

American AJ Allmendinger, who races in the U.S. Champ Car series, was
named as rookie of the year while French world champion Sebastien Loeb
was international rally driver of the year. His Citroen Xsara won the
 rally car award.

Scotland's Paul di Resta, 18-year-old cousin of Indy Racing League driver
Dario Franchitti, won a 50,000 pounds ($96,920) cheque and a test drive
with the McLaren Formula One team as winner of the prestigious McLaren
Autosport BRDC award.

Previous winners include Button, David Coulthard, Franchitti and BAR
test driver Anthony Davidson.
