Alain Prost tips Schumacher to quit
Hopes Schumacher ends career on a high
Alain Prost believes that Michael Schumacher will end his Formula One
race career in 2005, regardless of whether he wins the championship or
not. Schumacher, who states he has no intention of doing anything other
than honouring his contract which expires at the end of 2006, has been a
target of retirement speculation on an almost weekly basis for the last
three years.
"I think that Michael Schumacher will stop at the end of this season…
title or not," the former French World Champion told Bild "Michael affirms
indeed that it has fun always but that can very quickly change.”
Prost points out that Mika Hakkinen showed no sign of impending
retirement but a few short months later it was public knowledge after a
poor season. Prost however admits that he would like to see the Ferrari
star gain his eighth title before calling it a day – going out on a high
just like he Prost did at Williams Renault back in 1993.
