Schumi concedes he won't retain the title

  Michael Schumacher has revealed his reign as Formula One king is now at
an end after five years at the top - despite again finishing in the points
at Hockenheim.

  The 36-year-old had previously stated he would not throw in the towel
unless it was mathematically impossible for him to retain his crown.

  And although the gap to Alonso is 40 points with seven races remaining,
Schumacher has concede that his dream of retaining the title is over.

  "I don't think I can count myself in this battle anymore," the Ferrari
driver said.

  "It's obvious we have to get faster but our main problem is the lack of
grip with the tyres."

  "In today's race (the German GP) it was like trying to fight with a
blunted weapon. You can see the challenges coming, but if your weapons
are weak you don't have a chance."
