Exclusive interview - Renault’s Giancarlo Fisichella

專訪Fisi



With one race to go, speculation abounds concerning the future of Renault
driver Giancarlo Fisichella. After the glory years of 2005 and 2006, this
season has been tough for the French team and Fisichella is yet to finish
higher than fourth.
經過05, 06年出色的表現，今年對FISI跟雷諾車隊是艱困的一年，截至目前為止今年
只剩下一場比賽，最好的名次也才第4。


The Italian, however, is determined to turn his fortunes around in Brazil
this weekend. We caught up with him to discuss his expectations for the
Interlagos race and to find out more about his plans for 2008…
這個法拉利控，決心要在本週巴西站扭轉頹勢。記者死纏著他訪問，免得2008年訪問

Q: Giancarlo, you were fighting very hard in China but the end result didn’t
reflect the effort you’d put in. Why do you think that was?
問：FISI，中國站結果並沒有反映出來妳的全場奮戰，WHY？


Giancarlo Fisichella: Yes indeed, I fought very hard from the very first lap.
We work as a team and as a team we make decisions, including strategy. Many
times this year we have made decisions to get the best result for the team
given the equipment. Sometimes, like in Shanghai, these decisions do not
highlight the performance of the driver.
控：對阿，沒錯。我們是整個團隊，一起做決策、制訂戰略。有時有效拿到好成績，
    有時就像上海站白做工。


Q: Will the same problems affect your race in Brazil?
問：巴西站會不會有同樣的問題？


GF: I go into every race weekend with the same objective - to win. Of course,
this year I have had to make some compromises. I just hope to end this season
with a podium.
控：我每場比賽的目標都只有一個：贏。當然今年我們不能這麼做白日夢，我希望今年
    至少有一場能上頒獎台。


Q: In Japan, you finished in fifth and your team mate Heikki Kovalainen ended
the race on the podium. Was it just a lucky day?
問：在小日本時，妳第5名完賽但是妳的隊友上頒獎台。那天對妳算是好運的一天？


GF: It was down to strong performances by both drivers. Only three drivers in
Fuji did not spin, go off the track or have an accident and two of them were
Renaults!
控：很明顯這是因為車手表現好。那場比賽只有3名車手沒有滑出賽道，而其中兩個
    車手在雷諾車隊。


Q: The Brazilian Grand Prix will mark the end of your current contract with
Renault. How is your search for a 2008 cockpit progressing?
問：巴西站會是妳明年是否與雷諾續約的重要指標。?


GF: I am on stand by, as requested from Renault. I would be very happy to
stay. I have done a good job - the best given the circumstances!
控：我已經隨時做好準備等著雷諾來簽我。我很高興能留下來。今年我已展現我最好
    的表現，尤其是開這樣的車子。


Q: When do you expect to know your whereabouts for next season?
問：妳覺得何時可以知道結果？


GF: Soon I hope. I would like to be able to start getting excited about
testing the new car with no electronics. It will be a new challenge!
控：當然希望儘快。一想到能開始測試明年沒有電子控制的新車是個挑戰，
    我就躍躍欲試說～


Q: You have been with Renault for three years. In 2005 and 2006, the team
dominated both championships. Is it your ambition to stay on with the squad?
問：你在雷諾已經3年。車隊主宰05跟06年賽季，是不是因此妳想要死纏爛打在雷諾？


GF: Yes. I have a strong feeling I have to finish the job…
控：被妳發現了。我要繼續為車隊貢獻～


Q: The unresolved question of where Fernando Alonso will drive next season
has brought the driver market to a halt. Is it frustrating that your future
may depend on someone else’s decision?
問：由於Alonso動向的不確定導致明年車手市場有高度不確定性。妳會不會覺得明年
    命運交給別人決定的感覺很幹？


GF: A little because we have to wait to see what another driver does. But the
same happened with Michael (Schumacher) - so we will have to see…
控：有一點這樣的感覺，因為我們必須wait and see那個車手先做決定。就像之前
    舒馬克當時動向不明一樣。 so we will have to see...


Q: Alonso was your team mate for two years so you must know him pretty well.
Can you explain why there has been such an intense rivalry between him and
Lewis Hamilton?
問：Alonso當過妳兩年隊友，所以妳一定是他肚子裡的蛔蟲。妳要不要解釋一樣為何
    Alonso跟Hamilton今年會鬥爭這麼激烈？


GF: Maybe Fernando thought life at McLaren was going to be a little
different. Maybe he cannot get along with Ron (Dennis) as he did with Flavio
(Briatore). For sure, he does not play cards with him…
控：也許Alonso感覺McLaren的車隊氣氛比較不一樣。也許他跟Ron Dennis的關係沒
    辦法跟Flavio Briatore一樣好。至少他不會跟Alonso打麻將...


Q: Is it necessary for a Formula One driver to be a little egotistical to be
successful?
問：是不是成功的F1車手都要比較自私一點？(自我、本位主義)


GF: Yes, we are all selfish, but you must stay professional.
控：沒錯，我們都比較自私。但是妳也必須很專業。


Q: Have you ever thought of retirement?
問：想過退休？


GF: No way! I am as physically fit as a young boy - and I have the experience
控：當然不。我經驗豐富並且精力旺盛跟邱品睿一樣耶～
