from AO官網 Grosjean back from the brink Sunday, 19 January, 2003 by Tim Brimblecombe & Ashley Browne Updated at 9.40pm AEST [節錄] Australian Open 2003's No.12 seed Sebastien Grosjean has come back from the brink to win through to the quarter-finals after a slogging five-set defeat of Spain's Felix Mantilla. Grosjean, the 2001 semi-finalist, made his peace with Centre Court at Rod Laver Arena with a 3-6, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 defeat over Mantilla - the five-set specialist whose first three matches at Melbourne Park this year all went the distance. The match lasted more than three and a half hours and featured several service breaks in the fifth set, in which neither player appeared to want to make the match his own. In 2001, Grosjean blew a two set lead in losing his semi-final to his countryman Arnaud Clement. But against Mantilla, he was able to remain steady on the big points and hold his nerve during the tense final few games. Grosjean will now play three-time champion Andre Agassi, who had the easiest of passages into his fifth quarter-final when Argentina's Guillermo Coria retired after 48 minutes from their fourth-round match. -- ★wake up nico when he dreams★ -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: 218.187.40.13
