R. GASQUET/L. Recouderc 6-0, 6-1 http://www.rolandgarros.com Q. Maybe the match was easier than you thought. RICHARD GASQUET: Well, I believe he didn't play as many finals as I did with this kind of tournament. And he was a bit tense. On top of that, I played an excellent match. The score was really hard for him, but it doesn't show the difference of level between us. Q. I think it's the best present you can have for your birthday in two days. RICHARD GASQUET: It's a beautiful present for me to win at this kind of tournament. Q. I think you will be the next French player winning the French Open after Yannick Noah. What do you think of that? RICHARD GASQUET: There are very many other good French players. It's going to be very difficult to overcome them before. We'll see later. First, beating the other French players will be already a good thing. Q. At the end of the match, you were not very expressive on the court. Was it because the score was so difficult for him, so easy for you? RICHARD GASQUET: Well, it's not my personality. If it had been a bit tighter, maybe I would have expressed more. But I'm not an expressive guy. On top of that, I knew that my opponent didn't play a complete match, so I didn't want to upset him. Q. On the court you didn't seem very happy between the points. You were always watching your coach. Were you tense? Did you have pressure? RICHARD GASQUET: Well, it's difficult to be happy all the time. Of course, I enjoy a match like that, but I'm not going to smile all the time during the match. I have to remain concentrated. It's a final, after all. Q. And your injury? RICHARD GASQUET: I didn't feel anything today. Q. You played in the main draw. You lost against Costa. Today you win the Junior Tournament. Can you sum up your time here and the feelings you had during those two weeks? RICHARD GASQUET: In the main draw, it was a beautiful match. It was not easy. He's an excellent player. Now he's in the finals. This proves he's very fit. After that, I immediately concentrated on the Juniors. It was not easy to do, to play this tournament after playing in the main draw. But everything went well for me in the end. Q. You're going to play Queen's on grass. Did you already play it often? Do you have fears of playing on grass? RICHARD GASQUET: I never played on grass before. I'm going to start for the first time tomorrow and play my first match on Tuesday. That's it. Q. What's the schedule after Queen's? RICHARD GASQUET: I think I'm going to play the quallies of Wimbledon after the junior tournament and after I rest a little bit. Q. You were up 6-Love, 3-Love. Was it an objective for you to win Love-Love? RICHARD GASQUET: Not really an objective, but at 6-Love, 3-Love, I would have preferred to be 4-Love up. It was not easy. The main thing is that I won. That's the only thing important. Q. Did you think of the fact that winning the French Open Juniors Love-Love was an achievement? RICHARD GASQUET: I didn't think about that at all. Q. Do you have an objective for being junior champion in the world? RICHARD GASQUET: Well, maybe if I win another tournament like this one, I will have a good position to be No. 1. But it's not really an objective for me. Q. You played a lot these past weeks. How do you feel physically? Are you afraid to go to another tournament immediately after this one, different from clay? RICHARD GASQUET: It's not too tiring playing on grass. It's like hard courts. You don't need to have an excellent physical condition like on clay, so it's going to be okay. Q. Is it difficult to change draws? You went to Monte-Carlo, you came here. Everybody had expectations on you. Then you played in the main draw, then the Juniors. Is it difficult to go from Juniors to the professional tour? RICHARD GASQUET: It's not difficult to go from Juniors to the professional tennis. It's the other thing which is difficult: to go from professional tennis to the Juniors. This is not easy. Q. Everybody's expecting you. RICHARD GASQUET: Well, I was the favorite in this Junior Tournament. But I played excellent players, and they were very relaxed against me. So on the court, there were no longer any favorites. Q. People have expectations of you like someone who had good results on the professional tour. Sorry, I'm talking about Juniors. RICHARD GASQUET: Well, I think everyone wants to beat me, I suppose. Q. In Wimbledon, are you going to play Juniors? RICHARD GASQUET: Yes, I believe I will do that. Q. Do you believe you will have a wildcard or play the qualifications? RICHARD GASQUET: I'm playing the qualifications because, anyway, I'm in it. Q. So no wildcard? RICHARD GASQUET: No. I'm going to play the quallies. It's perfect. Q. The last press conference you said you played 70 matches since January. Did you add it up exactly? Where are you now? RICHARD GASQUET: I don't know. I'm about 70 matches, 75. I don't know exactly. I didn't make any calculations. Q. You said you didn't feel anything about your injury today. What was it exactly? RICHARD GASQUET: I suppose in the quarters, I had a problem. But I was treated. It was okay. Q. Do you believe you have the right game to play well on grass? RICHARD GASQUET: I was brought up on hard courts rather than on clay. It's only since last year I've been playing regularly on clay. I was better on hard courts before. Well, now I prefer clay, but it's new. Q. After Wimbledon, how long are you going to rest? RICHARD GASQUET: One or two weeks. I need to play tournaments. There are good tournaments afterwards. Q. When are you going to start again? RICHARD GASQUET: I don't know yet. Q. What are you going to do during the summer? Are you going to mix up Grand Prix and Junior Tournaments? RICHARD GASQUET: I'm going to do a few Junior Tournaments and team events also, smaller ATP tournaments, qualifications of challengers and Grand Prix. Q. Did you have any offers for wildcards in main draws? RICHARD GASQUET: I don't know yet.
