11 February 2004 - Thibaut FRAIX-BURNET http://www.opengazdefrance.com/en/open2004/accueil/story_129261.shtml Sandrine Testud's return was spoiled by an abdominal injury which forced her to quit. "It's a shame, I felt good on the court". Sandrine Testud's return wasn't a sucess, she had stopped her career after the Wimbledon 2002 tournament because of maternity. Although she was resisting to Daniela Hantuchova, at 3-3 in the first set she felt an absonimal pain before walking over at 3-5 for the Slovakian player. "I couldn't serve anymore. It made no sense to keep going" she explains clearly-headed. "After the three games I played in Italy before coming here, I had a slight pain but an ultrasound before the tournament reassured me. I got some rest and I thought I could play serenely ." Unfortunately, Sandrine Testud knew by experience that there was no point insisting. The beginning of her season is therefore disrupted especially since her scheduled unavailibilty could exceed two weeks. The French player hopes to be able to play in Doha on 1 March. "It's a pity because I needed to play games, to pile them up, she analyses. The body can get used to repeated games just like it can get out of that habit. I know that I still risk having a few physical problems". Aged 31, the French player from Lyon assures that she has about a year, a year and a half left to dedicate to tennis. -- "I saw a lot of my family, I took a holiday, I went to Amsterdam to see my brother, I did all the things I don't have time to do when I am playing tennis," Escude talked about what he did during his 6-month absence. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.70.206.23 ※ 編輯: Escude 來自: 61.70.206.23 (02/12 20:32)
