Vento-Kabchi, Widjaja take doubles title
Top seeds, Indonesian Angelique Widjaja and Venezuelan Maria Vento-Kabchi
scored a wildly popular win in the doubles final, defeating No.2 seeds
Emilie Loit of France and Australian Nicole Pratt 75 62. It was Vento-Kabchi
and Widjaja’s third final together since joining forces in February, having
finished runners-up at Doha and Toronto.
Widjaja wins her second career Tour doubles title (2002 Bol w/Garbin) while
Vento-Kabchi takes her third (2002 Dubai w/Rittner and Hawaii w/Tu).
