WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID
Clement: "I feel very tired now. We were playing for over three hours and
on clay and that takes a lot out of you. The conditions here are very
different to Casablanca and Monte-Carlo. It rained a lot yesterday so
the courts are slower. The balls are different too. It took me the first
set to get into the match and adjust my game to the conditions. It was
certainly a long hard duo. We were neck and neck the whole match."
Mathieu: "I am so happy. It's just one match, but I feel like I have just
won a tournament. It has been such a long time since I won a match. The
last time was in Lyon when I won the tournament."
"It's hard because people don't appreciate how difficult it is to come
back as a tennis player from an injury. Only a tennis player can appreciate
how difficult it is. The hardest part is finding the right balance, being
aggressive but relaxed at the same."
