雖然在馬賽得到雙打冠軍
不過果醬表示鹿特丹之後今年將不會再參加雙打比賽
而將專心打單打
More than anything else, Sebastien Grosjean wants to rank among the top
10 players in the world again. As a result, the Frenchman has decided
that the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament will be his last doubles
tournament this year. Although he won last Sunday’s doubles final in
Marseille with Fabrice Santoro, and despite wanting to reach the final
with Nenad Zimonjoc here in Rotterdam, he is clear about his future:
"Singles are of pivotal importance to my career. As a result, I have
decided not to enter any more doubles tournaments this year."
Grosjean was in excellent form last year, ranking 4th on the ATP list.
"I nevertheless want to improve as a singles player. I still want to win
a Grand Slam tournament, preferably Roland Garros of course."
The 24-year old Frenchman had few difficulties disposing of Renzo Furlan (32). Grosjean had not previously played the Italian, who ranks 163rd in the world. "He has played on the ATP circuit for almost 10 years, but our paths had not yet crossed. Trying to figure out his game was not easy, but I managed to work out a strategy in the end. Having won seven games in row, I lost my concentration, which briefly allowed him back into the match. I responded by upping the pace, which proved successful."
Grosjean (6) next plays Dominik Hrbaty (match scheduled for Thursday afternoon).
