法國對終止對西班牙在Fed Cup的四連敗,Ame則繼續她對Serna的連勝戰績(五勝零敗) 新聞還沒出來,先po這篇應該在賽前po的:p http://www.fedcup.com/news/matchreport.asp?id=10210 Spain and France Shape up for Clay-court Clash Spain v France Saturday Magui Serna (ESP) v Nathalie Dechy (FRA) Maria Sanchez Lorenzo (ESP) v Amelie Mauresmo (FRA) Sunday Magui Serna (ESP) v Amelie Mauresmo (FRA) Maria Sanchez Lorenzo (ESP) v Nathalie Dechy (FRA) Anabel Medina Garrigues/Virginia Ruano Pascual (ESP) v Nathalie Dechy/Emilie Loit (FRA) Magui Serna and Nathalie Dechy will trade the first blows in the first rubber of the eagerly-awaited Fed Cup quarterfinal clash between Spain and France, which takes place at the newly-built Escuela de Tenis Municipal Parque del Oeste, Oviedo, Spain. This is the first time that a tennis event of this magnitude has been held in the city. The draw, which took place today in the Auditorio de Oviedo, pitched two players who are currently only six places apart in the world rankings together in the opening match. Both were undefeated in singles in their countries’ first round victories, and Serna has since won two WTA titles. She will be keen to maintain her improved form against an opponent who has been in or just outside the top 20 throughout this year. In the second rubber, Maria Sanchez Lorenzo will make her Fed Cup singles debut against current world No.6, Amelie Mauresmo. The 26-year-old Spaniard has just enjoyed her most successful clay court season for four years and will relish the opportunity to upset the odds in front of her home crowd. Mauresmo, who through injury and illness has had a rather stop-start year, will be aiming to get her season back on track, following the rib injury that kept her out of Wimbledon. In the reverse singles on Sunday, Mauresmo will look to maintain her superiority over Serna – four victories to date – while Dechy will face Sanchez Lorenzo for the first time. The doubles will see Virginia Ruano Pascual and Anabel Medina Garrigues take on the French pairing of Nathalie Dechy and Emilie Loit. The tie has all the ingredients of an epic clash. The French team, Fed Cup winners in 1997, can point to a superiority in rankings but the Spanish, who have lifted the trophy four time in recent years, are on home soil where they have only lost two out of twelve ties since 1995. It must also be remembered that most of the players are coming off grass courts back onto clay and will need to adapt to the slower surface quickly. Both captains admitted that France were the slight favourites but that every match would be keenly contested. Miguel Margets, the Spanish captain was particularly pleased that the Spanish campaign would be led off by the experienced Serna and hoped that she could win the first match to take a little of the pressure off Sanchez-Lorenzo who has a very tough task. Guy Forget, the French captain added that his players would have to be at the top of their game to secure the necessary three victories, but declared Mauresmo fit and ready to do battle. This is the sixth time that the two countries have met in Fed Cup and Spain have won the last four of these, the last occasion in 1996, when the tie was decided in the final doubles rubber, and interestingly just two weeks after Mauresmo had beaten Serna to win the Wimbledon junior title. Unlike those previous four occasions though, the French will face a Spanish team which for only the second time since 1986 will take to the court without either of their two recent Fed Cup stalwarts, Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario or Conchita Martinez. The French will be looking to improve their record against the Spanish and close the gap on their opponents in the current Fed Cup ranking by emerging victorious. A weekend of exciting tennis lies ahead as the two nations bid for a place in the Fed Cup Semifinals and Final in November.
