Carlos Moya: "It was perfect today. I was hitting the ball clean and I hit a
lot of winners. I felt very confident. I think it was one of the best matches
I've played this year. The match I won yesterday gave me a lot of confidence."
"I played a great match today. He is a good player and it's not easy to be him.
I made him run a lot and it helps a lot that my serve is working very well. I
hope I can play at the same level tomorrow. Once I get to the quarterfinals I
start to be dangerous."
Roger Federer: "I knew he was a good player. I always expect a good match from
a good player. He had his chances. I wasn't looking very good in the third set.
I wasn't happy with my game today. I was down 4-2 and I just tried to hang in
there. I'm just happy to get through."
"It was a bit like a first round match for me. Maybe my first round match was a
bit too quick. I have to play better in the next match."
Jonas Bjorkman: "I'm hitting the ball very well and I returned very well. I put
pressure on Albert from the beginning. Obviously he got a bit frustrated. My
goal is to get down to top 30. This year has been a lot more consistent. I'm
enjoying my tennis a lot more."
Nicolas Kiefer: "I played much better than yesterday, I'm fit and I'm happy
with my game. I'm happy to have won two rounds. I think I'm on a good way to
reach top 50."
Stefan Koubek: "He was serving very well and taking the returns early. He
played solid and did what he had to. Even if I had been 100% it would have
been tough."

QUARTERFINAL MATCHES
Top seed Roger Federer continues his quest for a second straight CA Tennis
Trophy title on Friday when he takes on Finland's Jarkko Nieminen in
quarterfinal action. Federer will tie Andy Roddick with six titles if he is
victorious this week. His 64 match wins are an ATP best and he currently trails
Roddick and Juan Carlos Ferrero in the ATP Champions Race. Nieminen has had a
very successful year on the circuit that has included a finals appearance in
Munich (l. to Federer) and semifinals in Milan and most recent in Bangkok.
His 41 matches wins ranks in the Top 10, but the Finnish player is 0-3 in
career meetings with Federer

No. 2 seed Carlos Moya will attempt to reach the semifinals for the first time
since winning the title in Umag when he takes on German's Nicolas Kiefer. The
Spaniard is currently 7th in the ATP Champions Race and a win against Kiefer
will raise his Race point total and strengthen his chances of reaching the
season-ending Tennis Masters Cup Houston. Moya is 53-18 on the year and has
won titles in Buenos Aires and Barcelona to go along with his triumph in
Umag. Kiefer hasa 19-15 mark and is looking to win his first title of the year.
His best finish to date was in Halle, where he lost in the final to Roger
Federer. He last reached the semifinals in Long Island where he lost to
eventual champion Paradorn Srichaphan.
