我覺得是after跟once涵義上的不同
after的相反是before 所以(A)暗指
many people are known to recover from the disease before the
appearance of the clinical symptoms.
但是同一個人怎麼可能在症狀出現前可以治癒, 出現症狀後不能治癒.
而且如果治癒了, 怎麼還會有after的事件發生.
而once是指 "有" 或 "沒有"症狀, 一旦有的人 無法治癒, 沒有的人則可以治癒.
