大意:
題目說有4種雨量
1(heavy) > 2(moderate) > 3(light) > 4(none)
降雨量為2或3的日子,1990年>1910年
但題目又說1990年的雨量比1910年多
問以下選項哪個"有可能發生"
A. the number of days with heavy rainfall was lower in 1990 than in 1910
有可能
因為也許高雨量只有一天
但一天下了1萬公厘
結果總雨量暴增
B. the number of days with some rainfall,
but no more than two inches, was the same in 1990 as in 1910
不可能
題目說1990的2或3都比1910的2或3少
some rainfall(有下雨但沒超過2) 指的是2+3
個別都比較少了 加起來不會一樣多

but no more than two inches, was higher in 1990 than in 1910
同答案B 也不會比較多
D. the total number of inches of rain that fell on days
with moderate rainfall in 1990 was more than twice what
it had been in 1910
moderate rainfall指的是1-2公厘間的雨量
就算1990年下的都是2.0公厘
1910年下的都是1.0公厘
但1990年的天數比1910的天數少,
總量怎麼樣也無法超過兩倍
