n.小魔鬼 [a little devil or demon]
n.頑童 [a mischievous child.]
字源：imp 其實跟 implant是有關連的唷。不過一時間可能想不出來，imp它的發展是這
樣的，imp最先被當作"芽"，接著有"子孫、後代"的概念(1377)，最後才變成"小惡魔"的
字義呢(1584)。

n.衝擊 [The striking of one body against another; collision.]

n.撞擊力 [The force or impetus transmitted by a collision.]

聯想：im + pack(n.背包,一群 v.塞緊)： "使塞緊"-->壓緊;衝擊
ps. 單字pact 可跟"緊"一點關係都沒有，它的意思是"契約"
字源：from L. impactus, pp. of impingere。
其實impact 來自一個拉丁文字-- L. impactus。是impingere的p.p。
而pingere的意思是fasten, drive in。
(我們之後會講到impinge也是出於此源)

ps. repair v.修理
其實impair 與 repair雖然都有pair，但是，
它們的源頭是不一樣的，也就是impair的pair與repair的pair是不一樣的意思的，
但是為了好記憶，姑且把他們當作一樣好了
要怎麼想呢，下面是xination的想法
impair 是"使更糟"-->損害
repair 是"從糟糕的狀況拉回到正常"-->修理
impale
v.以尖物刺穿 [To pierce with a sharp stake or point.]
v.把...釘在尖樁上
聯想：im(en) + pale(adj.蒼白) "聽到要被尖物刺穿，臉色蒼白"
字源：是從拉丁文的 pallus "pole,stake"發展來而。
