137) The following appeared in an editorial in the Mason City newspaper.
"At present, Mason City residents seldom use the nearby Mason River for
any kind of recreational activity, even though surveys of the region's
residents consistently rank water sports (swimming, fishing, and boating)
as a favorite form of recreation. Since there have been complaints about
the quality of the water in the river, residents must be avoiding the
river because they think that it is not clean enough.
But that situation is about to change: the agency responsible for rivers
in our region has announced plans to clean up Mason River.
Therefore, recreational use of the river is likely to increase,
so the Mason City council will need to increase its budget for improvements
to the publicly owned lands along the Mason River."
當前，Mason市很少利用附近的Mason河來進行娛樂活動，儘管對該地區居的
幾次調查一直指出他們把水上運動（游泳、垂釣和划船）作為他們最喜歡的
娛樂形式。由於曾經存在對於這條河水質的投訴，居一定是因為他們認為河
水不夠干凈才不在這裡活動。但這種情況就會改變了：我們地區負責河流管
理的部門公佈了澄清Mason河的計劃。因此，河流的娛樂用途很可能將會增加，
因而Mason市的市委有必要增加用於改Mason河沿岸公共土地的預算。
心得：
好在跟昨天有一題一樣就直接寫了，但是有點擔心沒有很切題，
argument比較簡單，我可以好好準備verbal & quantitive了
