Luis de los Santos was a second round draft pick of the Kansas
City Royals (44th overall) in the 1984 amateur draft. The third baseman’s
professional debut came in the NWL with Eugene in 1984. His major league debut
occurred September 7, 1988 with the Royals. Besides Kansas City, he played in
the Detroit Tigers system as well as internationally in
Taiwan, Mexico and
Korea. de Los Santos was born in San Cristobal, Dominican Republic, and grew up
in New York City.
