Objet : [WSSD-YouthCaucus] Are you involved in a student-run environmental
initiative at your university/college?
To sustainable students worldwide,
"Morgen" the Dutch student network for sustainability is organizing a
symposium on the greening academic institutions, called Greening the Ivory
Tower. As part of this symposium we will publish a booklet with inspiring
examples of student-run environmental initiatives. Are you part of a project
that links student competences and actual university policies? For example,
did you found your university's bicycle initiative or water quality
monitoring project? We would be very happy to hear what you're doing for
your university, and perhaps we can include an article on your project in
our booklet. We believe that universities should "practice what they
preach", and perhaps your project provides the extra inspiration needed to
bring that ideal a little closer in the Netherlands.
The booklet will be spread amongst facility managers and policymakers of
Dutch academic institutions, and it is meant to show them that students can
take up a leading role in making higher education sustainable. This booklet
will serve as a great summary of initiatives and might be useful for you as
well. Since the aim is to inspire action, we do not only want to focus on
the result of the project, but also on the process that preceded the final
result.
So if you have anything to share- let us know! Please respond by email,
phone, or skype. If at all possible, we would be very interested in
interviewing you about the project (by phone or skype). If there is any
documentation on the project you are willing to share, that would be very
useful as well.
