Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow has told how being ditched by heart-
throb Brad Pitt broke her heart and changed her life. Pitt, who married
"Friends" (1994) stunner Jennifer Aniston in a lavish Malibu ceremony
on July 29th, dumped Paltrow because, it is alleged, he felt she was
too clinging. But now, in an interview with next month's Vanity Fair
magazine, 27-year-old Gwyneth, who won an Oscar for her performance in
Shakespeare in Love (1998), reveals the depth of her distress at being
publicly and unexpectedly jettisoned by the "Sexiest Man in the World".
She says, "It really changed my life. When we split up, something
changed permanently in me. My heart sort of broke that day and it will
never be the same." Gwyneth's latest comments, which are certain to
cast a pall over her former fiance's current honeymoon at a secret
destination, appear to confirm claims that her excessive enthusiasm
for the relationship eventually sounded its death knell. She says, "I
think you have to keep yourself intact in order to have a healthy
relationship and I didn't. I loved every second of it, but it wasn't
healthy. But I would not change anything. Even the things I hate most
about myself for what happened - the darkest moment of it - I wouldn't
change. Because it has made me what I am."
