Gwyneth Paltrow may be praised for her Grace Kelly-style poise, but
there are at least two people who are anxious to expose the swanlike
actress's clumsy side.
Jorge Arauz and Veronica Cabello allege that on April 24 of last
year, Paltrow rammed into their stopped vehicle on a Hollywood
street. According to a lawsuit filed with the Los Angeles Superior
Court, the Academy Award-winning actress caused the plaintiffs
"permanent and serious" injuries when her rental car rear-ended
their stationary vehicle.
Sounds like the Sliding Doors diva has been banging bumpers instead.
Arauz and Cabello are seeking "pain and suffering" damages from
Paltrow, in addition to $4,000 in damages to their car and $8,000 in
medical damages, according to the plaintiffs' lawyer, James Earle.
Midway Rent-a-Car, which owns the car the Shakespeare in Love actress
was driving, is also named as a defendant in the suit. Paltrow's
attorney, Harold Brown, was not available for comment.
The acclaimed actress most recently appeared in The Talented Mr.
Ripley and will be seen later this year in the romantic comedy
Bounce, also featuring her on-again, off-again beau, Ben Affleck.
