LOS ANGELES (The Hollywood Reporter) --- Academy Award-winning actress
Gwyneth Paltrow is in negotiations to star in Miramax Films' comedy "A
View From the Top" for Brazilian director Bruno Barreto ("Bossa Nova").
The project is scheduled to start shooting in mid-December.
"View" follows a young woman (Paltrow) with ambitions to become a flight
attendant. The story chronicles her rise from trailer-park trash to
glamorous international flight attendant extraordinaire. Eric Wald wrote
the script, with Roger Kumble penning the most recent draft.
Brillstein-Grey Entertainment chairman Brad Grey and motion pictures
head Matthew Baer will produce the project. The company has a first-look
feature deal at Miramax.
"View" was picked up by Miramax as a spec script for mid-six figures in
a pre-emptive bid last year (HR 6/28).
Paltrow, Barreto and Wald are repped by CAA.
Paltrow, also repped by attorney Harold Brown, is shooting Neil LaBute's
"Possession" for USA Films. The actress, who stars onscreen in "Duets,"
next stars opposite Ben Affleck in Miramax's "Bounce." Paltrow is still
attached to Paramount Pictures "How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days."
