A deranged "fan" who stalked screen queen Gwyneth Paltrow will remain
safely locked up for at least six more months. Pizza delivery man Dante
Michael Soiu, 51, who was convicted in December of last year of sending
hundreds of letters, packages and emails to Paltrow, was ordered on
Thursday to remain in a mental ward. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge
made the decision during a progress hearing for Soiu, who obsessed over
Gwyneth for almost two years, and even showed up at the home of her
parents, Bruce Paltrow and Blythe Danner. During the trial, Paltrow,
28, described how Soiu gave her nightmares and "traumatized" her. Since
his conviction, Soiu has been held at Patten State Hospital in San
Bernardino, California, and he'll remain there until his next progress
hearing on December 13th. "He still needs treatment," said Soiu's
lawyer, Eleanor Schneir.
