Gwyneth and Ben: Stalked and Stalking Friday June 15 05:58 PM EDT Poor Gwyneth Paltrow--just when she manages to keep one stalker detained, another one sprouts up. This time, it's ex-boyfriend Ben Affleck. That's right, it seems the Pearl Harbor flying ace has now been accused of wearing cheap mustache disguises and stalking a Venice Beach, California, resident. His accuser? None other than Matthew Hooker--the love-poem-writing guy who allegedly stalked Nicole Kidman and now wants to run for president in 2004. Okay. But first, some slightly more serious stalker news: A pizza delivery man who was convicted in a December trial of sending hundreds of letters, packages and emails to Paltrow was ordered Thursday to remain in a mental ward. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge made the decision during a progress hearing for Dante Michael Soiu, a 51-year-old Columbus, Ohio, man who obsessed over the Shakespeare in Love star for almost two years, and even showed up at the home of her parents, Bruce Paltrow and Blythe Danner. During the trial, Paltrow, 28, described how Soiu gave her nightmares and "traumatized her." Since his December 14 conviction, Soiu has been held at Patten State Hospital in San Bernardino, California, and he'll remain there until his next progress hearing December 13. "He still needs treatment," said Soiu's lawyer, Eleanor Schneir. Which brings us to Affleck. Hooker--the man who just last month was ordered to stay away from Kidman--now claims Affleck has been tailing him in order to "ruin my reputation with leading actresses." Hooker claims on his Website (www.beautifulbutdangerous.com) that Affleck once followed him while disguised as a Frenchman, "with a 'pencil' or 'toothbrush' mustache, and a French shirt on." "Ben--if you think by smearing me you can get Gwyneth (who recently had a real stalker harass her) back, or date Claudia, grow up," Hooker writes. Affleck's publicist isn't commenting on whether the actor smeared Hooker--or ever wore a "toothbrush" mustache. Still, if it were true, Affleck wouldn't be the only one tailing Hooker. The Secret Service is now keeping tabs on the 40-year-old oddity, after he announced on his Website that he intends to run for president in 2004, according to the New York Daily News. While Hooker does not make any threats toward President Bush, Los Angeles police alerted the Secret Service to his Website because they thought it was something "they needed to be aware of." Hooker, meanwhile, told the Daily News, "They're probably protecting me because I'm a presidential candidate." Yes, that must be it. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: 61-217-6-55.HINET-IP.hinet.net
