It wasn't playing a Reno prostitute in the dark thriller Hard Eight
that proved taxing for Gwyneth Paltrow. It's living as Brad Pitt's
fiancee that the actress finds most difficult.
"Living under such endless media scrutiny makes romance a challenging
affair," admits Paltrow.
"When we get home, we pull down the shades. We just make home a very
cozy place and we see our families a lot.
"That's how we try to keep everything simple and real."
Paltrow says it helps that Pitt is "just the best all-around guy. His
integrity, his decency, his honesty, his sense of family and his
sensitivity."
Pitt will be seen later this month opposite Harrison Ford in The
Devil's Own.
Paltrow has two films coming out this year including a contemporary
version of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations and a domestic thriller
called Kilronan in which she plays daughter-in-law to Jessica Lange's
homicidal mother-in-law.
Pitt and Paltrow met while filming Seven. They hope their next project
together will be a romantic comedy set around the karaoke scene called
Duets. If all goes as planned, it will be directed by Paltrow's father
Bruce Paltrow.
