Thrilled father says daughter engaged to Brad Pitt

NEW YORK (AP) -- Producer Bruce Paltrow says his daughter Gwyneth
and Brad Pitt are engaged.

"We are thrilled," Paltrow told People magazine. "We think it's
perfect."

The news ends months of speculation about whether Hollywood's
hottest couple planned to tie the knot.

The proposal came in Argentina last month, where Pitt was filming
Seven Years in Tibet. Paltrow called her parents in New York on
Dec. 20 with the news.

The next day, Pitt took a break from filming and flew with Paltrow
to his hometown of Springfield, Mo., where they celebrated with his
family over Christmas. The couple then flew to New York to be with
her family.

Paltrow, 24, starred in Emma last year. Pitt, 32, dubbed The
Sexiest Man Alive, by People in 1995, won a Golden Globe for Twelve
Monkeys.
