Pitt on Aniston, Paltrow October 6, 1998 http://mrshowbiz.go.com/news/Todays_Stories/981006/pitt100698.html Brad Pitt may have an expensive new movie to promote, but that doesn't mean he's going to dish about his private life in the process. In his November cover story in Vanity Fair, the blond, big-screen stud, next appearing as Death in Meet Joe Black, is reluctant to talk about his current affair with Jennifer Aniston—or his onetime engagement to Gwyneth Paltrow. On the subject of the Friends star, with whom he's been photographed bussing, Pitt confesses, "I have no idea what to tell you. No idea." The Seven Years in Tibet star does admit that he's dating Aniston, but says they're not rushing into anything. "Listen, if it's not right, I don't want it," he admits, but adds, "I'm telling you straight: It's a damn good time of my life." Pitt had little to say about his onetime love, who's now in the arms of Ben Affleck. "Since you started dating, there's always been that period until you find the one you want to go the distance with," he says. But Pitt doesn't think he rushed into his engagement with Paltrow, insisting, "No. I believed." When he's asked whether he's talked to the Sliding Doors actress since they decided to call it quits, the less-than-verbose star says, "It's done." But there's good news for Aniston: Pitt's soured romance with Paltrow hasn't turned him off to the idea of marriage. "What's a bigger high? Spending your life with another—I feel I'd be quite good at it."
