"The Weepies"

U.K. newspapers hailed the victory of Shakespeare in Love (1998)
and the individual awards garnered by British talent. Today's
London Daily Mirror, however, was a bit hard on Gwyneth Paltrow,
who wept through her acceptance speech and thanked "an address
book" of colleagues, friends and relatives, including a dead
cousin at Sunday night's ceremonies. In its lead paragraph, the
newspaper commented, "The Bard, as ever, summed it up: The lady
doth protest too much, methinks."
