The never-shy Sharon Stone opens up to Movieline about the stars she
likes (Leo) and those she can't stand (Gwyneth Paltrow, Stephen Seagal).
In the film mag's 10th anniversary issue, The Muse actress says she
feels for Leonardo DiCaprio since his fame made him a favorite paparazzi
target. "It's such a hideous thing, what's happened to Leonardo
DiCaprio. I can't think of anything worse .. [than] for him to be so
famous. It's just awful. Fame is an ugly thing."
Ah, but so are envy and bitterness. The sexy star disses recent Oscar
winner Paltrow, saying she's "very young and lives in a rarefied air
that's very thin. It's like she's not getting enough oxygen." Guess
Sharon's still sore over Gwyneth's spoofing on her in a February guest
spot on Saturday Night Live.
Stone did admit that Paltrow does have "a lot of talent," but dismisses
the younger actress as "naive." These comments were made before Paltrow
started raking in the rave reviews for her current Shakespearean turn
in As You Like It.
Ever beefy action star Stephen Seagal came under fire from Stone. The
actress called him "an individual who isn't worth the ink it would take
to write about him." We'd have to agree, and please notice we used
absolutely no ink in doing so.
Meanwhile, Stone's husband, San Francisco Examiner executive editor
Phil Bronstein, is recovering from angioplasty, reports Liz Smith.
Stone took leave from the Vancouver B.C. set of her film Beautiful Joe
to be by his side in San Francisco. After his recovery, reports Smith,
Bronstein's a likely candidate for editor of the San Francisco
Chronicle, which was just purchased by Hearst.
