With the month more than half over, it seemed a shame that there
hadn't yet been some word of Gwyneth Paltrow's love life. It was thus
manna from gossip heaven to read in New York magazine that the Oscar-
winning actress has been seeing a new young man — whose only tie to
the entertainment world is a very famous aunt and uncle.
According to the mag, Paltrow, 26, has been "quietly" seeing Lee
Eastman. The lad is a 28-year-old East Coast lawyer and nephew of the
late Linda Eastman McCartney, wife of the cute Beatle, Paul.
A mutual friend introduced the couple, who sources say have been
spending a lot of time together, reminiscing about childhood private
schools and summer homes in the Hamptons.
"She's thrilled he has nothing to do with the film business," one of
Paltrow's friends tells New York.
Paltrow's list of former film-based beaus (both rumored and confirmed)
includes Brad Pitt; Scott Speedman, her 23-year-old co-star in Duets;
and "good friend" Ben Affleck, who is working with her on the romantic
film Bounce. Just last month, those omniscient "sources" said Ben and
Gwyn were still an item, despite their publicly amicable breakup in
January 1999.
New York also notes that Paltrow has befriended Paul McCartney's
designer daughter Stella. If there is a modicum of temptation to start
rumors about those two beauties, refrain, dear friends, refrain.
